Guy Boyce Suddath of Raleigh, North Carolina died on December 8th 2014. Guy had been ill for some time. The son of Lovick and Nina Suddath of Amelia Island Florida, Guy was born in Savannah, Georgia and had lived in North and South Carolina most of his life. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mariana Sullivan Suddath, and two daughters, Mary Grace Suddath and Georgia Black Suddath, all of Raleigh. He is also survived by his brother, Charles John Suddath of Clarkesville, Georgia and his sister, Susannah Suddath Sisson of Lexington, South Carolina.
Guy was a loving son, father and husband and an avid sports fan pulling for both the Georgia Bulldogs and Duke Blue Devils. He worked most of his career at Verizon before continuing his work as an independent consultant in the telecommunications field. He enjoyed the game of golf and enjoyed spending time with his girls at their sports competitions and recitals. He was an excellent chef and enjoyed preparing meals for friends and family. Guy was an alumnus and supporter of Athens Y Camp in Lakemont, Ga and its sister camp, Camp Chattooga, where his daughters attended.
Services will be held at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, December 11th, at the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh NC 27613. A reception for family and friends will be held immediately following the memorial service at the Church. Contributions in lieu of flowers should be sent to the Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue (goldenrescuenc.org) or the Ronald McDonald House of Raleigh (rmhcofnc.org).
