Sherry Lynn Capone Hemingway, age 56, of Clayton passed away on December 8, 2014. Born in Harrison County, Mississippi on December 23, 1957, she was the daughter of Margaret Yates Capone of Clayton and the late Charles August Capone. Mrs. Hemingway taught at Manning Elementary in Manning, SC from 1980-81 and at Lougoff Elementary in Lougoff, SC from 1982-1987. She home schooled her children from 1996-2011. Mrs. Hemingway was the Administrator of Lighthouse Education Services and was a member of Southside Community Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with Rev. Jim Harmeling officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 8 PM.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband Joseph O. Hemingway, Jr., sons Benjamin Hemingway and wife Tiffany of Starkville, MS, Ryan Kirk Hemingway and wife Kathleen of Garner; daughter Laura Hemingway of Clayton; and brothers Charles Capone of Clinton, MD, Steven Capone of Hackettstown, NJ and Rich Capone of Indonesia.
