Fred Allen Rouse, 78, of Walnut Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Fred was born May 3, 1936 in Lenoir County to the late Fred L. Rouse and Lena Mae Rhem Rouse. Fred is fondly remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit and leadership while serving as president for twenty five years of Kinston based, Albain Shirt Company and Nantucket, Inc. He possessed a larger than life personality and was one who never met a stranger. Fred had a deep passion for boating and cherished time spent on the coastal waters. A renowned perfectionist and nutritionist, Fred had impeccable taste in clothing, loved discussing politics and enjoyed time spent working in his yard. Always willing to help others, Fred freely offered advice or assistance to those in need. Most important to Fred was his family. His life set an example for his children and grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.
A service to celebrate and honor Fred’s life will be held Friday, December 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home. A time of visitation and fellowship will follow.
Fred is survived by his wife, Jeannie Brinson; three daughters, Shawn Justice and husband, Jim of Statesville, Ashly Willis of Morehead City and Gina Maxwell and husband, Charley of Greenville, SC; six precious grandchildren, Christian, Taryn, Cameron, Tucker, Olivia and Parker; along with Shawn and Ashly’s mother, Grace Bost Rouse of Statesville.
