Mr. Wayne W. Williams, 57, formerly of Raleigh, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 after a long struggle with his health. Wayne was the youngest child to Bill and Virginia Williams. He was a member of Carolina Pines Baptist Church in Raleigh, and was very instrumental in the Garner-St. Mary Volunteer Rescue Squad from 1976 until the mid 1990's. He left there after becoming a Certified EMT, and attaining the rank of Assistant Chief. Wayne devoted his life to public service, and earned his BLET Certification, working with the Middlesex, Rolesville, and Cape Carteret Police Departments.
A memorial service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to offer words of hope and comfort to the family may visit www.pollockbest.com. Memorials, in Wayne's name, may be made to your local Volunteer Fire & Rescue Departments for the great work they do.
Wayne is survived by his sons, whom he loved dearly, Joshua and Matthew, of Garner, NC; his sister, Janice W. Ray, and husband Tony, of Emerald Isle, NC; sister-in-law, Linda C. Williams, of Raleigh, NC; 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
