Grace Queen Mann died on February 16, 2015 in Wilmington, NC after a brief illness. She was 88.
Grace was born on August 10, 1926 in Gastonia, NC to her parents, John Thomas Queen and Lillie Alice Queen.
She married Robert Howard Mann on March 24, 1956 and began their life together in Wilmington, NC.
Grace worked as an Administrative Assistant at NCSU and at the Governor’s Highway Safety program and eventually retired from state government. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, listening to the Big Band music from her teenage years and spending time with her three grandchildren.

Grace Mann is survived by her son, Richard L Mann of Wilmington, NC; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert H. Mann, Jr. and Linda C. Mann of Cary, NC; her daughter, Elizabeth Mann Hunter of Raleigh, NC; her brother Earl Queen of Gastonia, NC and brother and sister-in-law Grady and Dot Queen of Florence, SC; and three grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillie Queen, husband Bob Mann; her sister, Audra Black; her brother Carl Queen; her brother Henry Queen; her sister Ruth Green; her brother Frank Queen; her brother George Queen and brother Fred Queen.
A memorial will take place on February 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1401 S. College Road, Wilmington, NC 28403. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center in Wilmington, NC.
