Jay Richardson, 64, went home to be with his Lord Tuesday morning surrounded by his family. He faithfully served his family as a loving husband of 44 years, a loving daddy, brother and friend to all. He was devoted to his Church where he loved playing the bass guitar for the Lord and to his job and work family at Grifols for 35 years.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Zebulon Baptist Church. Burial, Upchurch, Alford, Bunn Cemetery in Pilot.
He is survived by his devoted wife and high school sweetheart, Pat D. Richardson and his one and only daughter, Tracy Bug and husband, Gus Alford; sisters, Pattie Jo Blalock, Linda Morgan and Brenda Futrell; brothers, Tony and Steve Richardson; three granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daphine G. and J.B. Richardson, Sr. and brother, Bennie Richardson.

The family will receive friends Sunday prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. at the church and other times at the home of Tracy and Gus Alford, 3017 Pearces Rd., Zebulon.
