William Raeford (Bill) Bowling passed from this life on Friday, March 6, 2015 after an extended confinement due to post-polio syndrome. Born in Harnett County, NC in 1930, he grew up primarily in Durham in the Lowes Grove Community. He was a 40-year Cary resident where his family was raised. Selling cars on Highway 55, he was a stop for many people passing by whether they needed a car or not as he made time to talk to all. He saw the world come past his door, from the trucks hauling the tobacco crop to Durham to the building and growth of nearby Research Triangle Park.
