Geri Salyer, 84, of Raleigh, NC passed away suddenly on March 11, 2015. She is survived by her children Richard Washington (Maria), Randolph Washington (Sheila), Donna Gracon (Donald), Rodney Washington (Tina) and; nine grandchildren, Edward, Lilly, Brendan, Liza, Nancy, Patti, Jessica, Andrew, Nicole and; six great grandchildren.
Geri was born on March 21, 1930 in San Francisco with her twin brother Harold Frenzel of Charlotte, NC to Richard and Elsie Frenzel. While raising her children, she graduated from Russell Sage College with a teaching degree in 1968 and then taught in elementary schools in Elnora, NY and Brunswick, OH. After retirement she resided in Raleigh, NC enjoying music, gardening, aerobics, spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as volunteering for the North Carolina Museum of Art.
In the last few years she spent much of her time with her dear companion Charles M. McAlister at his home in Western Grove, AR and traveling. Geri led an active, independent and joyful life up until her final day with us.
