Cleveland Reuben “C.R.” Barham, Jr. passed away, Monday, March 16, 2015 at Wake Med. He was born May 5, 1926 in Wake County to the late Cleveland Reuben Barham, Sr. and Zelma Hight Barham. He served our country during WWII in the US Army. “C.R.” retired after 36 years of service with Southern Bell and went on to organize Barham’s Prewire and other successful businesses with his children.
Surviving: devoted wife of 68 years, Jane Spence Barham; daughter, Deborah Butler (Gary) of Raleigh; sons: John Barham (Beth) of Wendell, Craig Barham of Spring Hope, Mark Barham (Susan) of Wake Forest; grandchildren: Dwight Grabowski, Jacob Butler (Kristin), Rachel Butler, Rebecca Barham, Robert Barham; great-grandchildren: Kori and Cole Butler; brothers: Robert Lee Barham of Wake Forest, Preston Barham of Wilmington, Marvin Barham of Edenton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Procter Barham; siblings: Linwood Barham, Lettie Barham, Beatrice Carter, Naaman Barham, David Barham, Clellon Barham, Rozena Watkins, Elizabeth Leonard, Claude Barham.
Memorial service 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Hayes Barton Baptist Church, 1800 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, 27608. The family will receive relatives and friends following the service.
Graveside service 11:00 am Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Ave., Raleigh, 27604 with Military Honors.
