Judith Wilke Geyer, 77, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother died at her home Thursday March 19, 2015 after a short battle with cancer.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 o’clock Monday morning, March 23, 2015 at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 540 West Holding Ave., Wake Forest, NC 27587. The burial will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday afternoon in the Saint Matthew Catholic Church Cemetery, 1001 Mason Rd. Durham, NC 27712.
She was born May 20, 1937 in Hamilton, OH to the late Mary L. Rigling Wilke and Frank T. Wilke and attended Our Lady of Cincinnati College in Cincinnati, OH. Judy married James M. Geyer in 1958 and together they moved to Syracuse, NY and later settled in the Raleigh/Durham area in 1980. Judy started the Triangle Area Ours adoption group and was a strong advocate for adoptive parents in North Carolina.
Mrs. Geyer is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Geyer; 14 children, Sharon (Bill) Barkley, Lori (Chris) Miller, Christopher (Michele) Geyer, Amy Geyer, Eric (Sarah) Geyer, Julie (Jeff) Rurka, Michelle Geyer, Carrie Geyer, Nicole (Charles) Greene, Shawna Geyer, Kamiko Geyer, Micah Geyer, Joshua Geyer and Michaela Geyer; a sister, Kathleen (Richard) Nichting; 19 grandchildren, Gabriel, Aaron, Amber, Matt, Ryan, Kyle, Yvette, Leah, Logan, Sophia, Isabella, Rachel, Kevin, Harrison, Charlize, Rayah, Arianna, Sanija and Maleah and 2 great grandchildren, Colette and Liam.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Frank John Wilke.
