Maggie Goodwin loved her church and her church friends. She was a member of Ebenezer Community Baptist Church for more than 70 years and served in many ways including starting the first Children’s Church. Her faith in God and love of His Word remained constant.
Mrs. Goodwin loved vegetable and flower gardening. The bounty of fruit and vegetables was preserved and served in huge quantities at the family meals she loved to prepare. Her buttered biscuits with homemade preserves disappeared before plates were passed. She also enjoyed crafts, especially knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Mountains of quilts, afghans, and baby blankets were produced and treasured by those she loved.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Ebenezer Community Baptist Church, 7808 Ebenezer Church Road, Raleigh, NC 27612 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM with a graveside service to follow at 12:00 noon at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, 7601 ACC Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27617.
