Ronald Lee Durnbaugh, 80, passed away on Thursday morning, April 23, 2015 following a brief illness. Born on January 2, 1935 in Xenia, Ohio; he was the son of the late Dewey and Ernestine Durnbaugh.
Ron served honorably in the US Army. His work career spanned from 20 years with GE in Sales, to Boca Raton at the Water Plant, to most recently with the Town of Cary in the Finance Department. A member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Cary, he was very active in their Music Ministry Department, serving as a drummer for over ten years in the Reign Contemporary Music Group.
He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races on TV, and was an avid football and basketball fan. He really loved talking politics with anyone who cared to engage with him.
Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Judith Meyer Durnbaugh; son: Doug Durnbaugh and wife Lori, of Cary; daughters: Julie Durnbaugh and Vicki Durnbaugh, of Holly Springs; grandchildren: Tara Durnbaugh and Garrett and Jacob Durnbaugh; brother: Charles Durnbaugh and wife Wanda, of Fairborn, Ohio; and by other family and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his older brother: Marcus Durnbaugh.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 10-11 am at Resurrection Lutheran Church, with Funeral Services to be held at 11 am. Family will receive for a time following the service and then process to Wake Memorial Park Mausoleum.
