Elder James Warren, Sr. departed this life on April 28, 2015. He was born in Selma, NC to the late Hattie Mae Watson. James married Flora Lee Joyner in October 1949. He enrolled in the U.S. Army serving from 1944 to 1946 then later worked at the Bethlehem Steel Company more than 35 years before retiring.
Elder Warren leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 65 years, Flora Warren; seven children: Belinda Warren-Walker (Leroy); Gloria Beard; Diane Evans; Charlene Armstrong; James Jr., Denise Warren-Hinton (Kenneth); Toriano (Shawnna); 13 grandchildren (1 preceded him in death); 7 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Arrangements entrusted to Scarborough & Hargett Funeral Home in Durham, N.C. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his honor to World Vision.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 am on May 5, 2015 at Orange Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Durham, N.C. The funeral will follow at noon.
Interment will be at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.
