Here at Read, we like to see the expansion of arts in all venues. The Raleigh Quarterly is such a venture, providing an outlet for local visual and literary artists. Here's the word from its founders:

The Raleigh Quarterly (www.raleighquarterly.com) is a new online creative magazine dedicated to promoting great work and big ideas, growing the careers of new and established artists and advancing our region's reputation as a hub of dynamic thinking and doing. I'm still frustrated by

gravity --

things falling

down.

But I'm OK with entropy

now.

And I'm OK with the arrow

of time.

If the arrow suddenly

switched --

and it all headed crunch-ward

(galaxies, the universe, etcetera)

and the shattered glass really did

jump

back from the floor

up on the counter,

whole,

I'd be perplexed -- liking

the one change, but maybe not

the other.
