'We're doing a madrigal show where there are songs where we sing various madrigals and we have a goofy play to kind of go along with the singing," says 18-year-old Aiden Dale, who was waiting for his entrance as cupid during the rehearsal of the "Madcap Madrigal Pageant: Fools Fall in Love." The pageant was part of Emerson Waldorf School's Annual May Faire in Chapel Hill.
Dale, a senior at the school, says playing cupid came along with the part of playing a minstrel in the play. "It was a little intimidating at first, having to get in tights and topless in front of a whole bunch of people I don't know, but it was kind of fun and it's interesting," he says of the last play he will perform during his 14 years at the school.
"Leaving this school is going to be really hard for me. It's going to be really sad." Dale says of his upcoming graduation. "I have three other people in my class that have been here the full 14 years with me, so I literally spend more time with them than I do with my own family so basically we're all siblings. It's an amazing, amazing experience. I absolutely love it and it's going to be very hard to part with and move on." He is part of the second graduating class of seniors at the school.
