Twelve-year-old Bryan C. Digby, in foreground, waits to bull fight at a rodeo in Garner. "I get an adrenaline rush before I bull fight," he said. "It's kind of butterflies in my stomach, when I get them I know it's time. Sometimes I pray before I bull fight. Most times I talk to my dad and get his advice. He used to bull fight when he was younger. Now he helps me train. I think he thinks it's pretty cool that I'm doing it. People at my school don't know that I'm a cowboy. To be a cowboy you have to have guts, but be polite as well. I go to two or three rodeos per week, on the weekends, we travel all over the state. I love it; I get to have fun at the events and spend time with my family. My dream is to make it to the PBR (Professional Bull Riding) to bull fight. I've gotten hurt before, but I know how to take care of myself. That's what I tell my mom, I know she always worries".
About This Project

"The View" showcases the unique character of the people and places that form our community. The column explores the lives and relationships of the diverse groups that populate the Triangle. Anyone, regardless of age, race, cultural background or ethnicity, is a potential subject. We include the thoughts of those featured as they express how they view their own situation, allowing us a window into their lives.

Chris Seward
Our approach to finding stories for the column varies. Often, we look for subjects to illustrate themes we want to explore. Other times, we may stumble across interesting subjects while on assignment or in our daily lives. We hope readers can use "The View" to enhance their understanding of their own community.
