| NaKareya Green, 4, catches a ride on the back of resident John Boykin's Wheelchair at the Cherry Apartments in Wilson. The speedy wheelchair trip at the apartment building for lower-income and elderly people was "as good a ride as at the State Fair," NaKareya said. It was one of the side benefits of visiting her grandmother, who is also a resident there. In spiite of getting a little tired, Boykin let NaKareya talk him into a few more laps around the lobby. Cherry Apartments, which was built in 1917 and is on the National Register of Historic Places, was originally a hotel. |
