Plants and memories, passed along

I remember the big, white hydrangeas -- we called them snowballs -- that grew at my Grandma Macy and Pa-Pa's farmhouse. And underneath the big oak tree at Gran's house, irises sprang up amid the jagged, gray rocks along the path leading to the porch.
