It's World Wide Knit in Public Day (WWKIP)! Held on the second Saturday in June since 2005, the movement encourages knitters worldwide to meet in local groups and knit together in public -- that's all. No Alice's Restaurant anti-massacre movement or anything like that. Just Knitters. Knitting. In public.

So, if you come across a knitter today, don't gape, don't waggle your finger, don't snicker. Instead, sit a spell and learn how to knit.

To find a sponsored event, check www.wwkipday.com/find_kip.htm.

We'll be trolling for knitters today. If we find you, we'll put your picture on the blog.
