| Just like the famouse little engine, this little maple could. In a heavily wooded area of northern Durham County, even the long dead remnants of an old oak tree are no match for the mighty will of this tiny sapling. Statistics from the Tar River Land Conservancy show that North Carolina lost more than one million acres of forest from 1990 to 2002. Perhaps, the lesson here is: Life can find a way. | ||
