| A bright light amid fast-fading signs of a summer long gone, this maple leaf calls out from a forested floor in Northern Durham County. The leaf joins others on the ground, fallen victim to autumn's shorter days and the loss of enough light to keep its green color. Red and yellow hues tinge the edge of the leaf as the green of summer is drained from its veins. Oh, it's a fate that even the the mighty maple leaf can't escape. | ||
