Like an artist signing a painting, retired builder Grady L. Hunter decided to put his initials on his own masterpiece -- his lawn on Deerhaven Drive in Raleigh. "I've put $100 worth of weed control fertilizer on that spot already," he said. The initials GLH are planted with rye grass and are higher than the surrounding emerald zoysiagrass to make them stand out. "I've never heard of anybody doing this. Steakhouses have a signature steak ... why can't I have a signature lawn? My son says I have too much time on my hands."
