| Rounded shapes, undulating patterns and green spaces soften the transition from vehicle to terminal in the RDU parking garage. In a time of reported terrorist plots and heightened airport security, the calm, almost serene environment where moving horizontal walkways transport people and their luggage, is a welcome space for harried travelers. The garage, between terminals A and C, opened in 2003. Designed by the Freelon Group Inc. of Research Triangle Park, it places more than 11,000 parking spaces within walking distance of the terminals. | ||
