Trianglisms: Back to school

You may have noticed: we're a growing area. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 86,000 people moved to the Triangle from different counties within North Carolina, from other states and from abroad. Which means a lot of folks here are unfamiliar with our ways. You know, the peculiarities/quirks/conditions that make us ... so interesting.

As a community service, we've decided to get everyone on the same page, so to speak. It's back to school, summer school!

Your lessons for the next 12 weeks: words and phrases that explain who we are and how we think. We hope you'll be quick studies and good students. There will be a test when class ends Sept. 1 (Details will come later).

And if you have any suggestions to add to our list of Trianglisms, send them to us. Put "Summer School" in the subject line.
