Some dogs have a real flair for the dramatic, and Zebby, the Golden Retriever, is definitely one of them. Every emotion is written all over his face, and whether he's having the best day of his life or suffering through some sort of injustice, there's never any guesswork involved when it comes to how he's feeling.

Unfortunately for Zebby, every fun adventure eventually has to come to an end-and that includes pool days. In a recently shared TikTok video, the sun-dried Golden Retriever is sitting on a lounge chair next to his mom, and he's laying on the sadness pretty thick.

As Mom talks to him, she asks, "Are you sleepy from swimming, buddy?" She adds, "You look really tired."

Honestly, the Golden Retriever is in full-send mode for the devastation vibes. As if his droopy eyes weren't dramatic enough, Zebby lets out the tiniest whimper, instantly confirming what his fans already know: The swim day is officially over, and that he's been cruelly forced to stay out of the water.

The whole situation feels incredibly relatable to fellow Golden Retriever parents. The breed is famous for loving everything with their whole hearts, rarely hiding their feelings. Even though Zebby looks completely exhausted-and probably desperately needs a nap-there's simply no way he was going to accept the end of pool day without delivering one final performance full of dramatic, sad-boy energy.

Is Swimming Good Exercise for Dogs?

Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise for dogs and can provide many health benefits as well. The experts at Top Dog Health suggest the top 5 benefits include:

  • It improves overall health. Just one minute of swimming delivers the same benefits as 4 minutes of running.
  • It's a joint-friendly activity. Swimming is non-weight-bearing and low-impact exercise that provides the same benefits without stressing joints and tendons.
  • It helps reduce stress. Dogs benefit from mental stimulation, and swimming provides both exercise and fun.
  • It can provide pain relief. Swimming in warm water is suggested to help strengthen joints, improve circulation, and promote muscle recovery.
  • It's great for overweight pups. Getting an overweight dog the amount of exercise they need to lose a few pounds can be challenging. Swimming is a great way for pups to burn calories without extra stress on overworked and tired joints.
