Raleigh Little Theatre’s “Cinderella,” Carolina Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” and Cary Players’ “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” open, while the touring “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” musical wraps up its week in Durham with a special show for kids on the autism spectrum or with sensory sensitivities.
▪ Raleigh Little Theatre’s “Cinderella,” an annual holiday tradition now in its 33rd year, runs Dec. 2-18. On opening night, $10 from each ticket goes toward providing winter clothing for Salvation Army families. First weekend tickets are $28, with members paying $27. All other tickets start at $33. There are shows Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 5 p.m. For full schedule or to buy tickets visit raleighlittletheatre.org.
▪ “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” a family-friendly comedy in which the tough kids take over the holiday pageant, comes to Cary Arts Center. There are shows Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 3 and 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m., and Monday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 for adults, $18 for students and seniors, and $17 for groups of ten or more. ▪ The “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” musical ends its weeklong DPAC run with a number of shows this weekend, including a special sensory performance at 11 a.m. Saturday. There will be fewer loud noises and flashing lights than the usual performance, as well as other modifications to make the show safer and more enjoyable to those on the autism spectrum or with other sensitivity issues. Tickets run $23-$115. To view show times and ticket availability for the non-sensory performances, visit dpacnc.com.
