"What Does the Fox Say?" Has Reached Grandma

Leigh can't get this catchy little tune out of her head. Now, her kids are showing the craziness to Grandma.

“What Does the Fox Say?”

I can’t get it out of my head.  You know that Ylvis video has really gone viral when it reaches the middle-aged.

Have you seen it? “Saturday Night Live” did a hilarious spoof of it this week.  The entire song is a spoof, and now it’s getting its own spoofs.

“The Dog goes Woof.  The Cat goes Meow. “

The tune is hauntingly catchy.

It’s so silly, but yet I’m obsessed with this little tune.

I can’t get it out of my head.

When I saw it, my first thought was my son. It sounded like something he makes up around the house.

Then I showed it to him.

He loved it.  He showed it to his sister.

She jumps around and goes, “RingDingDingDingDing..dingeringdering!”

Then we all swing our hips and say, “Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pow!”

My children showed it to my  78-year-old Mom when she visited this weekend.

For the record, she can’t really hear well. My son turned up the volume, and, of course, the video has closed captioning, so without really hearing the tune, she read the words.

She said, “Oh, that’s so cute!”

I’m not really sure she heard the tune, but she gave “What Does a Fox Say?” a thumbs up.

Annoying Orange, another video my son found on You Tube, got a thumbs down from her for its parody version “What Does the Sock Say?”

I’m not sure an orange with a mouth could win my Mom over anyway.  She’s made it very clear that she doesn’t care for talking vegetables or fruit with eyes. She can’t stand “Veggie Tales” and fusses every time my kids put it on TV.

It all just makes me giggle.  Then I break out into song,

“What Does the Fox Say?”

“Hatee Hatee Hatee Ho!”

I won’t show Mom the “SNL” version.  Something tells me she won’t like that one at all.
