Yep, it’s that time of year!
The change of season is nice, but, unfortunately, it brought a little something extra in my house this year.
Three-fourths of my family caught the fall bug.
Fever! Sore throat! Cough! And a nose so runny that you would have thought it was trying to run a marathon!

I swear I used a whole box of tissues in an hour. And don’t even get me started about when we felt well enough to leave the house.
My daughter sneezed the biggest sneeze ever known to man, buckled up in her car seat, while I was driving down the road. And, of course, neither one of my kids will hold the tissue box they so desperately need.
Oh, no! That would be too convenient.
It’s up to me to get them a tissue, which just happens to be in the passenger side of my car, slightly out of reach.
I guess they don’t call them “snotty-nosed kids” for nothing, right?
Anyway, we hibernated for a little while. My son missed two days of school. My daughter missed a day of preschool. And me? I missed my alone time while they were out of school snorting and sneezing on my couch.
What made us feel better?
We ate chicken noodle soup. Lots of it.
It’s homemade, delicious, and it hit the spot during our sickness.
At the first hint of a snort and sneeze, break out your pot, and cook up my chicken noodle soup.
It will have you feeling better in no time.
Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup (I use egg noodles instead of letters, and organic chicken broth. Because I use organic, I do add some sea salt and black pepper to the soup)
Of course, I serve it with homemade corn bread, too. I’ll have that on my blog soon.
