This weekend as celebrities gather in Beverly Hills for the Golden Globe Awards, the big names of Hollywood will receive a little piece of the Triangle.
Cary-based jewelry designer Candice Yagmin will have her Yagmin Designs teal peacock quartz briolette pendant included in the swag bags given to award show attendees and media at the GBK Golden Globes Celebrity Gift Lounge.
This isn’t Yagmin’s first brush with fame. The designer, who creates handcrafted sterling silver jewelry, had a necklace worn by one of the actresses on the television show “The Vampire Diaries” during an episode that aired this past fall.
Yagmin said this latest necklace was inspired by the glamour of the awards show.
Never miss a local story.
“When I think of the Golden Globes, I think of elegance and class,” she said. “Emeralds were the first gemstone that came to mind. I think this teal peacock hydro quartz briolette captures the beauty and intensity of this classic jewel in an affordable way.”
Yagmin’s jewelry can be found at yagmindesigns.com.
University Place in Chapel Hill will host a sidewalk sale Friday through Sunday. Shoppers can score deals from the shopping center’s retailers, enjoy live music and celebrate the birthday of Elvis Presley with music and cake during a celebration 3 to 5 p.m. Friday. Shoppers also are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to donate to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. For more info, visit universityplacenc.com.
