New York City chef Gabrielle Hamilton, author of the bestselling memoir, “Blood, Bones & Butter,” is coming to Fearrington for an event to promote her new cookbook.
The event will be 5 p.m. Nov. 2 on the garden terrace at the Fearrington House in Pittsboro. Tickets are $95 and include samples from Hamilton’s book, “Prune,” named after her New York City restaurant, as well as a reception with the author, drinks and an autographed copy of her cookbook.
These Cooks & Books events, organized by McIntyre’s Books, routinely sell out. (The Oct. 29 event with chef Sean Brock is sold out.)
Here are a few of the dishes being served that night: grilled lamb sausages with Dijon mustard and cornichons, braised lamb shoulder with lemon, tomatoes and cinnamon, chicken braised in hard cider, muffuletta salad, pastrami duck breast and small rye omelet, whole-roasted cauliflower with fried capers and brown butter crumbs. And for dessert, there will be buttermilk panna cotta with candied lemon, apple galettes with whipped mascarpone and cornmeal pound cake with rosemary syrup, candied rosemary and poached pear.
