I have two upcoming canning classes in Durham and Chapel Hill.
The next class is a three-hour class starting at 11 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Durham Spirits Co., a Durham cooking school offering hands-on classes in a home kitchen. Weigl will teach how to make sweet potato butter, habanero pepper jelly, mustard pickle, refrigerator pickles and chowchow.
At 6 p.m. Nov. 5, Weigl will be teaching a demonstrtions class at Southern Season on pickles and preserves for holiday gifts. She will be teaching how to make sweet potato butter, mustard pickle, pear honey and cranberry apple chutney. The class costs $40.
