What’s at the Market: Waverly Farmers Market

Each week, we check in at a local farmers market to see what will be for sale.

This week, we check in with Jason Hazinski, who works with the Waverly Farmers Market in Cary. He shared this list of what to expect for sale at the market Saturday.

Here is the list: beans, butternut squash, cabbage, cucumbers, eggplant, eggs, grapes, kale, okra, onions, pattypan squash, peppers, pecans, pumpkins, sprouts, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, wheatgrass, yellow squash and zucchini. Plus, fresh juice, goat cheese, mustard and preserves.

Then the Rogers Cattle Co. is taking pre-orders for holiday turkeys, and also selling beef (ground and a variety of steaks) lamb (chop, ground and stew), chicken (while, half, breast and leg quarters), pork (sausage patties, hot Italian sausage, bratwurst, bacon, chops and tenderloin).

The market is from 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays. It is located at the Waverly Place shopping center at the corner of Tryon and Kildaire Farm roads. It is near Gigi’s Cupcakes and Taziki’s Cafe. Info: waverlyfm.com
