Whisk, a new kitchen store in Cary, is celebrating its grand opening with a three-day event starting Friday.

The celebration includes free, holiday-focused mini-cooking classes by local cooking instructors, including cookbook author Sheri Castle of Chapel Hill. Castle, author of “The New Southern Garden Cookbook,” will do a cooking demonstration at 5 p.m. Friday.

The store also will offer giveaways, product demonstrations and food sampling. Customers can receive a complimentary reusable Whisk shopping bag and receive a 20 percent discount on bakeware items during the three days.

Whisk, a 4,000-square-foot kitchen goods store, opened earlier this fall in Cary’s Waverly Place Shopping Center at Tryon and Kildaire Farm roads.

The store offers in-store cooking classes, knife sharpening, bridal registry, private parties and corporate team-building events. It is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sundays. More info: 919-322-2458 or
