Pintful: Riverbend Malt goes national and What's On Tap

The New Belgium collaboration with Riverbend Malt House in Asheville debuts Friday. But you have to travel to Asheville if you want to taste it. The national release party starts at 6 p.m. at the malt house. More details here.

Fortnight Brewing Opening

This week. Fortnight Brewing, 1006 SW Maynard Road, Cary

The Triangle’s newest brewery is now open in Cary. Fortnight Brewing specializes in English-style beers and the starting lineup includes an English ale, strong ale, porter and blonde. The pub at the brewery opened Wednesday for the first time. It’s hours: Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m. Details here.

Trophy 1st Anniversary Party

3 p.m. Thursday at Trophy Brewing, 827 W. Morgan St., Raleigh

The brewery is turning 1 and celebrating with special tastings, including an apple brandy barrel-aged Best in Show, a new double India pale ale and two new imperial stouts aged in whiskey barrels. Details here.

Bourbon County Stout tapping

3 p.m. Saturday at Bottle Mixx, 8111 Creedmoor Road, Suite 153, Raleigh

Until this year, it was near impossible to find Goose Island’s Bourbon County Stout in North Carolina. But a limited release of the bottles hit stores this year. They sold quickly, but Bottle Mixx is Raleigh is putting it on draft for a special tasting.

Green Flash IPA Beer School

5 p.m. March 4, Brewmasters Bar & Grill, 301 W. Martin St., Raleigh

The California-based brewery will have a representative discuss its beers and the hops used in West Coast IPA, Palate Wrecker and others.
