Serving Up Spring: A Pop-Up Brunch Benefit

Join us Sunday, March 30 for Serving Up Spring, a pop-up brunch at HQ Raleigh’s new space in downtown Raleigh! Enjoy crepes, chicken, pastries, coffee and more. Online registration required. Dine anytime between 10 AM and 2 PM. Proceeds benefit Activate Good’s Activate Schools program, empowering teens to lead and serve to make an impact. “Comfort Food Cook Off” Fundraiser for The Shore Grief Center

The Shore Grief Center is holding a “Comfort Food Cook Off.” Come enjoy local restaurants’ favorite comfort foods as well as enjoy a silent auction. Food will be served from 6-8, the silent auction closes at 9 pm.Attendees will vote for their favorite comfort food and the winning restaurant will receive a trophy and bragging rights for the best comfort food!A Silent Auction will also take place during the Cook Off with lots of great items. Wake Tech Culinary Arts Showcase 2014

We’re turning up the heat on a Triangle tradition! Join in the excitement of the hot foods competition. View award-winning displays and watch live food demonstrations and ice carving by Wake Tech students and instructors. Enjoy food from some of the Triangle’s top restaurants and shop “Baker’s Row” for a taste of student specialties. Hands-on decorating fun for kids and a silent auction of “foodie” favorites round out the event. 4 p.m. April 1. $8 in advance, $10 at the door, $5 for students, free for under 5. Dumplings From Around the World many little time! Join us as we travel around the globe, cooking different dumplings, using various techniques. Mozzarella 101

Love cheese but sometimes wish it was more gentle on your system? In this class, resident cheese-maker Laurel Shulman will guide you through 2 mozzarella making recipes -- the first involves the typical whole milk, and the second is vegan, utilizing cashews, tapioca flour and soy yogurt. The aftertaste of these 2 cheeses will be quite similar and definitely offer an alternative to your constant cheese cravings that will feel better in most digestive systems.1 p.m. March 29. $50. Turkish & Mediterranean Cooking

Have you ever tasted delicious Turkish food? Do you want to learn more about authentic Turkish cuisine? Divan Center offers Turkish Cuisine cooking classes. Spanish Tapas

These traditional Spanish small bites are perfect for entertaining! In today’s class we prepare a variety of tapas for every occasion.
