If you are a fan of cider, you will not want to miss this event this Saturday in Durham: Cider Fest 2014 at Mattie B’s Public House.

From noon-3 p.m., cider afficionados can enjoy cider from seven North Carolina and Virginia cider makers plus small bites from several local restaurants and bars.

The North Carolina and Virginia ciders will be from Black Mountain Ciderworks, Bull City Ciderworks, Fishing Creek Cider, Foggy Ridge Cider, McRitchie Ciderworks, Noble Cider, Sourwood Brewing Co. Plus the bar will be offering ciders from around the world. Small bites to pair with the two-ounce pours of cider will be made by chefs from Bar Lusconi, G2B, Mattie B’s Public House, Pizzeria Toro, Primal, The Original Q Shack, Six Plates Wine Bar and Toast. Tickets to the three-hour tasting event are $50.

From 3 p.m.-2 a.m., Mattie B’s Public House will host a free event, pouring a variety of ciders and possibly with live music.

Some of the proceeds from the event will go to the Apple Growers of N.C.
