The fifth annual Herbfest will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 3 at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center in Cary.

Visitors will learn how to start an herb garden, can take a tour of the history center’s grounds and check out offerings from local vendors selling items related to gardening, herbs, native plants, perennials and cooking. Wake County master gardeners will be on hand to answer questions.

The event also includes a silent auction of garden-related items.

To entertain the children, the Cary Teen Council will offer hands-on activities, and the popular butterfly release will happen at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The event will be held rain or shine. The Arts & History Center is at 119 Ambassador Loop, Cary. Admission is free. Info:

The event is co-sponsored by Friends of Page-Walker Hotel and Town of Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources.
