PDQ is beginning their search for next year’s seasonal special milkshakes this month by hosting a contest for employees at all 25 locations to see who can create the most delicious and unique milkshake.

On Tuesday, five employees from their North Raleigh location competed against each other to see who would be the store winner. The store winner advances to the corporate level and will be entered into a drawing for two plane tickets.

Five milkshake flavors were presented at the North Raleigh location: cinnamon toast crunch, watermelon sensation, orange creamsicle, bananas Foster and chocolate mocha. Ultimately, the bananas Foster milkshake won. The chocolate mocha and orange creamsicle milkshakes finished second and third respectively.

Andrea Twiss, the creator of the bananas Foster milkshake, said her inspiration came from her experience working in restaurants and her first pregnancy.

“I’ve always really liked bananas Foster as a dessert,” she said. “And when I was pregnant with my first child, all I wanted were banana milkshakes. So I really wanted to combine the two.”

The bananas Foster milkshake included ingredients such as vanilla ice cream, fresh bananas and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

The restaurant is at 6305 Falls of Neuse Rd. Info:
