Cooking classes: strawberries, eggs and picnic fare
Chef Sharon Morf is teaching cooking classes out of her Southern Wake County home.
Her hands-on interactive cooking classes are 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and costs $50 per person. Here is the schedule:
May 5 Discover 10 creative ways to use strawberries. Menu: Beets and berries salad, sweet and savory jam, duck glaze, strawberry pizza, and strawberry salad with chocolate vinaigrette.

May 12 A fresh take on eggs for morning, noon and night. Menu: Homemade mayonnaise and aioli, guacamole deviled eggs, crab cake Benedict and frozen custard-salted caramel.
May 19 Learn a few critical skills that separate the picnic novice from the pro. Menu: Wax bean salad, homemade ham biscuits, cold poached salmon (or chicken) with lemon olive oil and ginger crisp cookies.
May 26 Learn the simple grill techniques make all the difference. Menu: Grilled corn salad, marinated London broil with bourbon sauce and oven-roasted potatoes Lyonnais.
