With Lent right around the corner, Triangle churches will be hosting pancake suppers, fish fries and other fundraising dinners.
We’re calling on all houses of worship to let us know about your upcoming dining events. If you’re inviting the public to dine with you between Feb. 3 and Memorial Day, your event should be on this list.
We’ll publish the list Feb. 3. The deadline for submitting your event is midnight, Jan. 24.
Here’s what to do:
Go to events.triangle.com (no www).
Register or log in to the website.
Click on “Add Event” (green square, upper right side).
Fill out the form. Choose “Food/Tasting” as the genre. If the venue where your event is being held is not in the system, you’ll have to add it. Follow the prompts.
Each listing should include the name of the event (ex. Ebenezer United Methodist Church Annual BBQ Fundraiser), short menu, if dine-in and/or takeout is available, if delivery is available and how to place such orders, price for adults and children, time and day of event, address, phone number and website. To be considered for inclusion, entries must include all requested information. Here’s an example of an ideal listing:
Mount Zion UMC BBQ Chicken Dinner
Half a chicken, boiled potatoes, green beans, a roll and dessert. Dine-in or takeout available. 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sept. 11. $8; $4 children (ages 4-12); free for children 3 and under. Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 15772 N.C. 50, Garner. 919-772-8415, mountzion-umc.org.
