Owners of the Cocoa Cinnamon in Durham opened their second location on Hillsborough Road on Monday.
Owners Leon Grodski de Barrera and Areli Barrera de Grodski said they will open the coffee/tea/hot chocolate shop in “Beta” mode, which means it will have a more limited menu and more limited hours until they get up to full speed. This mimics how the couple how opened their last shop on West Geer Street in Durham.
The 1,470-square-foot-shop is located at 2627 Hillsborough Road in Durham, next door to Mesa Latin Kitchen. It has 60 seats inside and 50 seats outside.
The couple opened their first shop in January 2013. Last year, BuzzFeed ranked Cocoa Cinnamon as one of 24 coffee shops in the United States to visit before you die.
