Beetlebung Farm’s chef and owner Chris Fischer is coming to Chapel Hill to cook a Nov. 4 dinner at Il Palio restaurant.
Il Palio’s executive chef, Teddy Diggs, knows Fischer from Martha’s Vineyard, where Diggs worked previously as an executive chef.
Fischer runs Beetlebung Farm, his family’s five-acre homestead on Martha’s Vineyard, and oversees The Covington, a new restaurant there. Fischer’s culinary resume includes stints at Babbo in Manhattan and The River Café in London. Fischer won a James Beard book award earlier this year for his cookbook, “The Beetlebung Farm Cookbook.”
The men will be cooking a “Fire from the Farm” dinner at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 4 to benefit the nonprofit Abundance NC. The dinner will feature recipes from Fischer’s cookbook and regional Italian dishes by Diggs. The menu will make use of Il Palio’s custom-made wood-fired grill.
Tickets cost $120 and include the meal, wine and cocktail pairings and a VIP gift. Autographed copies of Fischer’s cookbook will be available for purchase. Tickets for the dinner can be purchased by calling 919-918-2545.
Il Palio is at 1505 E. Franklin St. in Chapel Hill. Info: ilpalio.com
