Jason Tetro, author of “The Germ Code,” has a new book singing the praises of microbes and why we should learn to respect them. “The Germ Files: The Surprising Way Microbes Can Improve Your Health and Life (and How to Protect Yourself from the Bad Ones)” (Doubleday, $19) informs and entertains with accessible mini-essays on microbiology.
Fun fact: There are more good germs than bad. Only 0.01 percent of the thousands of species regularly interacting with us are known to cause infection.
There’s more of that in Tetro’s book.
If you’d like to win “The Germ Files,” send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight Tuesday (May 3) and include your mailing address. Please put “Germ” in the subject line of your email to be included in the random drawing. Only the winner will be notified.
