I’m sure most of us have made a list of New Year’s resolutions. We set these goals to improve ourselves and to be better prepared for whatever life throws at us. But, don’t forget that your plumbing systems may need some improvements as well and should be prepared for the unexpected. With that in mind, here’s my list of three plumbing related resolutions that you may want to research for your home this year:
▪ This is the year to stop wasting a precious resource: Save water by upgrading to high-efficiency plumbing fixtures. Newly redesigned high-efficiency toilets, showerheads and faucet aerators can save water and still deliver a powerful performance.
▪ This is the year to give yourself a better foundation: Make sure your basement sump pump system is installed and working properly. If you don’t have a sump pump system or if it needs to be repaired, bring it up to code to help protect your home.
▪ This is the year to empower yourself: Most plumbing-related systems like well water, sump pump and heating systems run on electrical power. Installing a whole house standby generator can help protect your plumbing from freeze-ups and failures.
