Arliss Page Brantley, 81, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Duke Regional Hospital. He was born in Durham, son of the late Quinton Roosevelt Brantley and the late Lela Yates Brantley. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Georgia Vaughan, Janelle Glenn; brother-in-laws, Travis Jackson, Roger Glenn and R.L. Harris. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War in the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. He retired from Sears/Roebuck as a Technician and was a member of Redwood Ruritan Club, National Rifle Association and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Brantley is survived by his wife of 58 years, Corrinia Jackson Brantley; son, James Curtis Brantley and wife Robin; daughter, Page Michelle Brantley; sisters, Juanita Vickers and husband, Mack; Correen Harris; sister-in-law, Betty Jackson; grandchildren, David Allen Brantley, Jonathan Dale Brantley; great granddaughters, Lilly Brantley, Autumn Brantley; and dogs, Jack and C.D.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham with Rev. Marc Tilley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Clements Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Redwood Ruritan Club and Sears Retirees.
