So the legend begins. On Saturday May 2nd in the hours just before dawn, Robert “Rob” Bryan Harris embarked on his spiritual journey to enlighten the ever after with his uniquely exceptional charisma. Entering our realm in the early morning hours on September 19, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he unknowingly began his mission to change the world for the better. Harnessing the essence of life and adventure, Rob exemplified what living is all about.
At the age of 16, he left home to make his mark on the world. His path eventually led him to the Army where he served our country honorably. From there he earned his degree from the University of Tulsa and eventually found his profession in the legal industry. Just as he had always done, Rob committed himself to excellence in his work leading to his recognition as the top Executive Director and winner of the National Award for Excellence in Legal Administration. His accomplishments and success helped establish law firms in London, Brussels, Prague and Kiev as well as in the United States.
Rob pursued his passions in life with unwavering resolve. That endless resolve helped him win the heart of Jo Elaine Grey, whom he met, fell in love with and married. The two remained side by side for the rest of his life. His amazing story, told best by family and friends, personifies the endless laughter, love, caring and commitment he gave to those lucky enough to have known and loved him. Always understanding and aware of the importance of family and friends, he was quick to praise, slow to judge and considerate to all.
Rob did not just talk about changing the world for the better he worked diligently to make it so. Committed to helping others, he was an active board member serving Stop Hunger Now, led mission trips to Russia, coordinated disaster response teams for his community and was involved in numerous local charities.
Having established his legacy, his family will continue to carry on his mission. Led by his wife, Jo Elaine and their five children; Bryan Harris (Jamie)- Little Elm, TX, Brent Harris (Trish)- Atlanta, GA, Christopher Grey – Los Angeles, CA, Lisa Brewer (Jay)– Edmond, OK and Stacy Beard (Christopher)– Parsons, KS along with their eleven grandchildren.
