Dolores Julia Joseph went to be with her Lord on May 8, 2015. The youngest of ten children, she was born on August 11, 1931 to Namy and Julia Joseph of Wendell. Dolores graduated from Wendell High School and obtained her bachelor’s degree in education at UNCG (Woman’s College).
She began her teaching career in 1953 at Altimahaw Ossipee where she taught Spanish. In 1961 she moved to High Point and taught at High Point Central High School, where she retired after twenty five years. She was an exceptional teacher, devoted to her students and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
She was active in her church, enjoyed traveling and playing bridge. She remained in High Point until 2013 when she moved to Zebulon to live with her niece, Regina Horton.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Abraham, Charlie, Eddie, George and Joe Joseph, sisters Lucy Abbood, Mamie Doan, Evelyn Smith and Helen Smith and special friend Betty M Welch. She is survived by her niece, Regina Horton of the home and her daughters Courtney (Bobby, children Kaitlyn and Dylan), Amanda and Stephanie (Josh) and many nieces and nephews; special friend Dan Perry; her cats, Cotton, Izzie, Little Bit and her chihuahua Zoey .
