Luther Thomas “L.T.” Creech, Jr., age 85, died Tuesday afternoon, May 5, 2015 at his home. He was born December 22, 1929 in Johnston County to the late Luther Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Sullivan Creech. As a child he learned to play the guitar, a love that he maintained throughout his life. L.T. was a member and former deacon of the Church of Faith on West Railroad Street in Selma for more than 30 years and was a retired finishing supervisor with Burlington Industries in Wake Forest. In 1971 he became an ordained minister with the Undenominational Church of God.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny DiCorte and the Rev. Tommy Pearce officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife Erdine Bunn Creech; sons, Jerry C. Creech and wife Jaye of Clayton and Dwight T. Creech and wife Aggie of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Judy C. Tingen and husband David of Raleigh and Barby D. Creech of Selma; brothers, Bill Creech of Selma, Donald Creech of Smithfield and Belvin Creech of Charleston, OR; 10 grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, Mark, Denette, Derrick, Jerry, Jr., Jamie, Mandy, Carey Ann and Josh; 14 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
