Michael “Mike” Neiverth of Clayton, NC died Monday, May 18, 2015 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. He was born in The Bronx, New York City to Eleanor Sirkus Neiverth and Gilbert “Gil” Neiverth.
Mike received his B.S degree from New York University after which he served two year in the US Army during the Viet Nam era. He then earned his M.S. Degree from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. He worked as a pharmaceutical researcher for Warner Lambert of Morristown, New Jersey before he became a computer consultant for several New Jersey firms including TRW, Inc. After he and his wife Lynn Neiverth relocated to Clayton, NC fifteen years ago, he worked part time for Johnston Community College as a computer instructor in adult education.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lynn S. Neiverth of Clayton, his son Jason W. Daverth and wife Gwen of Austin, Texas and their three children, Mike’s grandchildren, Matilda, Jessilyn and Sawyer. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jordan and Lexi Key, and their father, Bryan Key of Clayton, and Bryan’s wife Lisa Richards and his stepson, Nate Richards. Mike is also survived by his sister, Trudi Neiverth of San Francisco, CA.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori B. Key of Clayton, his parents, and his brother Clifford Neiverth of New Jersey.
A private memorial for the immediate family will be held in Clayton, on Sunday, May 24, 2015. Since Mike donated his body for medical research, the graveside service, open to the public, will be held when his remains are returned to the family and information about the service will be published at that time.
