Eula "Lee" Radford passed away on Wednesday, May 20th after a long illness. She was born to Rufus and Cindy Lee of Four Oaks on December 10th, 1928. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, retired US Army Sergeant Major Marvin Radford.
Lee spent her early adult life as a dedicated military wife and mother. She traveled across the world numerous times to remote places including Vietnam, Taiwan, and Alaska. She was an avid reader and master gardener. She and Marvin were very proud of their home and took on many large construction projects undaunted by the difficulty or tediousness. They were constant companions. When you saw one, you saw the other. Lee took her religious faith very seriously. She was a long time member of West Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. She was a kind, welcoming, and generous woman.
Lee is survived by her son, Bruce Radford, his wife, Kelly, her granddaughter and love of her life, Ally, all of Apex; and brother Edward Lee of Smithfield. She was predeceased by her sister Cleo Penuel, brothers Roby Lee, Joe Lee, and Robert Lee.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 22nd at 2:00pm at Selma Memorial Gardens at the intersection of US 70 and US 301. The family will receive friends at the cemetery just before and after the service.
